COLLEGE PREPARATION FOR ADULTS

Many GED and external high school diploma program graduates wish to take college and university courses but need additional preparation to have a successful college experience. College transition programs have been designed to meet these needs.

This program is for you if:

• You want to improve your academic skills for success in college
• You would like to identify and research your career choice
• You would like to enter college or a training program but want help with the process

PROGRAM FEATURES

• Career choice counseling
• College study skills
• Math, reading, and writing refresher
• Basic computer and internet research skills
• Help with admissions and financial aid

QUALIFICATIONS

• You are a GED graduate or an adult high school diploma graduate or have been out of high school more than five years
• You are ready to enter college or a training program after the college transition class is completed

The Accuplacer College Entrance Test:

The Accuplacer is a computerized college placement test designed to provide placement and advising information for students entering college. It is a self-paced test given on a personal computer. Most students complete the test within 1 1⁄2 - 2 hours. The testing is adaptive. The Accuplacer determines which questions will be given next based upon previous answers. The scores determine which courses you are eligible to take.
