New Hampshire State Literacy Resource Center
The New Hampshire SLRC is located at Second Start, Concord, NH and led by Patricia Nelson. The SLRC sponsors New Hampshire adult education staff development activities in cooperation with the New Hampshire Bureau of Adult Education. Pat Nelson brings a wealth of experience for the benefit of the state’s adult educators. She maintains sample materials at her office. She can also provide support for some practitioner-initiated staff development activities. New Hampshire Humanities Council
The Council offers a variety of programs that connect humanists to schools:  Reading Discussion Series (including Connections programs for adult new readers); National Gallery of Art audio-visual programs; and Speaker Programs.

NELRC is a consortium of New England adult educators and state resource centers. The website includes information about publications and best practices.

National Institute for Literacy
The NIFL site includes information about programs and services designed to improve the quality of literacy programs nationwide including LINCS networks, Bridges to Practice for learning disabilities, Equipped for the Future for content standards, and access to a variety of publications.

National Center for the Study of Adult Learning and Literacy
NCSALL connects “research and practice to strengthen programs.” This site offers a variety of materials for downloading, including publications such as Program Administrators’ Sourcebook: A Resource on NCSALL’s Research for Adult Education Program Administrators and Applying Research in Reading Instruction for Adults: First Steps for Teachers.

Commission on Adult Basic Education
COABE, organized to “advance national and international adult education and literacy opportunities for all persons,” sponsors conferences and publishes the ABE Journal. You can also find news about adult education issues on the COABE website.

National Assessment of Adult Literacy
