The New Hampshire Bureau of Adult Education and the International Language Institute of Massachusetts worked together to develop the New Hampshire Adult Education ESOL Certificate program. It should be noted that this is NOT a certification program that meets formal requirements for teaching at any level. It IS a framework that allows ESOL teachers to demonstrate that they have the knowledge and skills required for high quality teaching of ESOL to adult learners.

The first two adult educators to earn the NH Adult Education ESOL certificate were Christine Powers from the Center for Adult Learning in Manchester and Marsha Magill from the Adult Learning Center in Nashua. They are now qualified to work with Carolyn Gear and Alexis Johnson to help others meet the requirements.

You can see more details about the ESOL certificate program:

Contact Debbie Tasker at the Bureau of Adult Education dtasker@ed.state.nh.us if you have questions about the ESOL certificate.
