New Hampshire Adult Education Standards

CORE PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

Standards related to adult roles—Community Member, Worker, and Family Member—were developed by a committee of New Hampshire adult educators during 1998 and 1999.

  • According to adult education administrator Art Ellison, “These Standards will serve to focus our teaching and student learning on critical skills needed by all adults in this society.”
  • Standards Committee members and other colleagues developed Model Lessons based on the Standards.
  • “Big green binders” containing all Model Lessons materials are located in each New Hampshire adult education program.
  • The goal is to make it easy and convenient to introduce Standards-based lessons.
