Math Sense
New Readers Press
This series is a favorite of mine because it teaches math in a way that is built around reading, writing, talking and understanding math concepts rather than just “getting the answer.” The series has four separate subject books: Whole Numbers and Money; Decimals, Fractions, Ratios and Percents; Measurement and Data Analysis; Algebra and Geometry; and a Comprehensive Review Text. It was designed to help students overcome math anxiety and to discover that math is interesting and purposeful, and of course, to develop math sense.
