GED
- SPECIAL
ACCOMMODATIONS FOR GED TESTING
Every GED candidate should have a fair opportunity
to demonstrate his or her knowledge and skills under
appropriate test conditions. Some candidates, because
of physical, emotional, or learning disabilities,
may not have equal access to the GED Tests when
given under standard testing conditions. For examinees
with documented disabilities, accommodations are
a way to make the GED Tests equally accessible.
A candidate who believes he or she qualifies for
accommodations should contact the GED Examiner at
the Testing Center where he/she plans to test. The
Examiner can provide guidance and the appropriate
forms for requesting accommodations. More information
about applying for accommodations is given below:
PHYSICAL/CHRONIC HEALTH DISABILITIES
Definition: a documented condition such as cerebral
palsy, epilepsy, or blindness that severely limits
the candidate's ability to perform the essential
skills required to take the GED Tests.

and needed reasonable accommodations can be made
using Form PCH which can be provided by the GED
Examiner. This form must be signed by the medical
doctor who certifies the medical condition.
Process: Submit Form PCH to your local GED Examiner.
The Examiner will review the form and send it to
the New Hampshire GED Administrator. Approval by
the GED Administrator is required before accommodations

which is a condition defined in DSM-IV, such as
schizophrenia, major depression, etc.

disability and the needed reasonable accommodations
can be made using Form EMH provided by the GED Examiner.
This form must be signed by the professional who
certifies the emotional or psychological condition.

specific learning disability.
